Things to Do
BUNGALOW 6 IS CONVENIENTLY LOCATED IN
Carool NSW
Being only a stones throw from the Gold Coast, should you decide to leave the mountain, there are plenty of fun and interesting things to keep you busy.
Potager Resturant

A Kitchen Garden is a gem in the mountains! Winner of various culinary awards since opening a couple of years ago, the owners and staff go out of their way to make your dining experience memorable.
Much of the produce comes from their very own kitchen garden. They don’t grow everything they serve, but they serve everything they grow. There’s nothing like picking something fresh from the garden and you’ll often see their kitchen team out there picking before or during service.
They also like to hold special events. Every few months they will host a degustation dinner, or a long table lunch, or some themed dining experience. Make sure you sign up for our newsletters to keep informed about upcoming events as they often sell out with 48 hours.

If you’re thinking of going to Potager, I strongly recommend booking in advance. The’re online reservation system will give you instant confirmation.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is considered one of the best mother nature experiences on the east coast. Heaps to do and plenty of ‘getting close to the animals’. One of the few places in Australia you can actually hold a koala as well as snakes and baby crocodiles and feed the big mob of local kangaroos.

The big crocs are out on display with an educational show most afternoons. Get down there early and feed the lorikeets in the open air feeding circle. Add to this the eagle and dingo encounters and the Aboriginal night corroboree and you are spoilt for choice with things to keep you busy whilst in Coolangatta.

Coast and QLD junior surfing teams for 10 years, was Australian team coach and recently coached Peru to win the 2010 I.S.A World Title.

Hot Air Ballooning

The Gold Coast and Coolangatta is not all about the surf and ocean. We are surrounded by the stunning hinterlands that take in the Currumbin Valley Hinterlands, Springbrook National Park and the iconic Mount Warning – the very first place you can see the sun rise in Australia every morning.
What better way to see it all than in a hot air balloon! Balloon Down Under is the only ballooning business on the Gold Coast to be acknowledged by the tourism industry for excellence.
An early morning pick up from an agreed location will get you to your take off point followed by a complete experience of setting up the balloon, preparing for take off and enjoying the spectacular views of the area. Drifting gently over the Gold Coast landscape for one hour allows you ample time to take in the panoramic views of the Gold Coast from skimming over the tree tops to up to 2,000 feet high.
Finish this exhilarating experience with a gourmet champagne breakfast before being dropped back in Coolangatta. Another one to tick off the bucket list!!
